Law Signature Schools
According to the American Bar Association in cooperation with the US Department of Education, a Law Signature School is defined as a comprehensive program offering a multiple elective and non-elective courses at each grade level, in a sequential manner, concentrating on aspects of the law and legal processes for students in grades 9-12. The success of the Law Signature program depends upon the level of support from the community. Most often support entails the participation of members of the law enforcement, court system, bar associations, law schools and colleges.
In Louisiana, the LCE has assisted school districts with the development of Law Signature programs in Alexandria, New Orleans, and Lafayette.
