Hamilton Winters Receives
Civics in Action Award |

Hamilton S. Winters , a 2010-11 sophomore at West Monroe High School, is the recipient of the LCLCE's prestigious 2011 "Civics in Action" award. The award was presented by the Honorable Pascal F. Calogero, Jr., Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice, retired, on July 20, 2011 before educators assembled for the annual Louisiana Summer Institute.
The "Civics in Action" Award honors a Louisiana middle or high school student who has made a difference or an improvement in the quality of life in their school, home, or community through the use of civic engagement and who exemplifies what it means to be an engaged citizen. Winters was selected from a strong group of applicants for his numerous hours of community service and his extraordinary leadership skills. |
