 Louisiana Supreme Court Justice Jeffrey Victory administered the oath of office to the LCLCE incoming officers at the LCLCE Reception held at the Louisiana State Bar Association's Annual Meeting in Sandestin.
The LCLCE Reception was held in honor of outgoing President Wendell Manning and incoming President Brian Engeron. It was sponsored by Lakeside Toyota and welcomed all LSBA Annual Meeting registrants.
The 2010-11 LCLCE officers are Brian Engeron, President, John Hernandez, Vice-President, Mark Cunningham, Treasurer, Loretta Larsen, Secretary and Judge Wendell Manning, Immediate Past President.

Two Louisiana Schools Certified as Law Signature Schools
|
Lake Charles Boston Academy of Learning and West Monroe High School have have been certified by the LCLCE as Law Signature Schools. These schools have met the LCLCE board approved criteria of a Law Signature School. The Louisiana Bar Foundation partners with the LCLCE by considering certified Law Signature Schools for funding to convert a classroom into a multi-use mock courtroom.

Judge Manning also presided over the West Monroe High School Law Signature School certification announcement. Among those participating were State Representative Frank Hoffmann and Ouachita Parish School Superintendent Dr. Robert Webber.

Mandeville High School Student Receives Outstanding Student "Civics in Action" Award |

Samuel Curtis Ingalls, a sophomore at Mandeville High School is the recipient of this year's prestigious "Civics in Action" Award.
In addition to being an excellent student, Mr. Ingalls has shown that he is a natural born leader who thrives on being involved in activities where he can learn more about government in action. See more about the CIA award at the LCLCE website.

Over 60 in-class presentations made by members of the legal community, covering seven Louisiana congressional districts were made in May 2010.

"We the People" State Champions Compete
at National Competition
|
The Louisiana "We the People" 2010 State Championship team is John Ehret High School in Marrero.
This team, accompanied by their teacher, George Allan, advanced to the National WTP Competition in Washington, D.C. The team represented Louisiana admirably at the national level.
