The Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education hosted a reception for all LSBA Annual Meeting attendees on Thursday, June 11. Chief Justice Catherine Kimball administered the oath of office to LCLCE officers, Judge Wendell Manning, Loretta Larsen and John Hernandez, III.

ABA Recognizes LCLCE/LSBA Teacher of the Year Award Recipient

The Honorable C. Wendell Manning, President of The Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education announced at the LSBA's Annual Meeting that Jamie F. Staub, the recipient of the LCLCE/LSBA 2009 Outstanding Civics Teacher Award is being recognized by the American Bar Association as the recipient of their American Lawyer Auxiliary Law Related Educator of the Year for High School Award.

The three winners of the 2009 Law Day High School Art Contest received their awards May 5. The contest was sponsored by the 2008-09 Leadership LSBA Class. Class members joined the winners, from left, class members Cynthia K. Simon and Lauren E. Acceptance letters have been mailed. Everyone who applied for this year's Institute will be contacted regarding their status.
We regret that there was not enough space for everyone this year. We will schedule a district workshop in your area before the end of the 2009-10 school year.
