Law Day is celebrated the first week in May. Teachers, judges and lawyers interested in participating in this year's Law Day program, which brings members of the local legal community into Louisiana classrooms, should contact the LCLCE office today! Teachers requesting a Law Day presentation will be matched up with volunteer lawyers and judges from their community. This is a free service and a great way to honor Law Day.

Four days of law related professional development programs held in the historic New Orleans French Quarter from July 19 - July 22, 2011. Applications will be accepted soon. Look for the April LCLCE ENewsletter for registration form. Enrollment is limited and early application is recommended.
- Out of town participants will be housed, free of charge, at the Iberville Suites in the historic French Quarter
- Free "We the People" textbooks and a teacher's guide
- Expert pedagogy sessions on how to use material in the classroom
- In depth exploration of the court system by distinguished Louisiana judges
- No program fees and all materials provided at no cost to teachers

The Louisiana State Bar Association Diversity Committee's inaugural "Suit Up for the Future" summer internship program is for high school juniors and seniors interested in the legal profession. Students will participate in a five-week program (June 20-July 25). The application deadline is April 15, 2011.
